Most of our visitor's first impressions of France will be arriving at Saint Malo but please don't write it of it as a rough sea port, St.Malo is a glamorous resort for the French and British alike. Within the ramparts you will discover the ancient dwellings of pirates and smugglers as well as some fashionable shops, bars and restaurants. Throughout the year Saint Malo hosts various nautical events the best of which is the "Tall Ships Race" in the height of the summer (www.grand-voiliers.com). So don't forget your stripy breton sweater and yellow wellies. The fruit and vegetable market is on Friday morning. The "Grand Aquarium" is just outside the town on the way to Dinard. |
